Directions
- Place the cloves, allspice, and cinnamon on a 6-inch square piece double thickness 100 percent cotton cheesecloth. Bring up corners and tie with clean kitchen string.
- Combine the remaining ingredients in a large saucepan; add the spice bag. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove and discard spice bag before serving. Serve warm or cover and chill up to 1 week. Makes about 4 cups.
